April 26, 2017 at the regular session of the Philippines Annual Conference held at Tagaytay Mission Camp in Tagaytay City, Cavite, Rev. Igmedio “Bong Domingo Jr of Southern Tagalog Provisional Conference assigned in Sta. Rosa UMC in Sta. Rosa, Laguna was appointed as the new district superintendent of the Southwest Metro Manila District by Bishop Ciriaco Francisco.
Rev. Bong was once district superintendent for 8 years of then the Laguna Quezon Mission District part of the defunct Philippines Annual Conferenc East under Bishop Solito Toquero which was then the bishop of the Manila Episcopal Area. The LQMD was restructured as Southern Tagalog Provisional Philippines Annual Conference East to focus on the mission and needs of the region. He was assigned at St. John UMC for two years and assigned in Sta. Rosa UMC and serve as pastor there for 4 years. Now he is transferred to Philippines Annual Conference to serve as a district superintendent.
Another reason for celebration for the STPPACE family is the graduation of Pastor Cris Pera in his Master of Divinity at the Union Theological Seminary in Dasmarinas, Cavite this 28th of April 2017. Some church workers, family, friends and relatives attended his commencement exercise and celebrate with his family. Pastor Pera is currently assigned at Pinagbayanan UMC in Pila, Laguna. He is the brother of the outgoing district superintendent Rev. Francis Pera and Felipina Pera-Irenea, deaconess of the Atimonan UMC. He is also the brother of Rev. Cleto Pera who is now at UTS who hold the office of the Administrative Services and will start as associate pastor of the Good Samaritan UMC in Quezon City on June 1, 2017.
Rev. Igmedio “Bong” Domingo Jr. is married to Olga Domingo with two sons, Justin and Emman while Pastor Cris Pera is married to Farida Ecat Pera with one daughter and a son.
