In the recently concluded regular session of the Southern Tagalog Philippines Provisional Annual Conference East held last March 13 to 15, 2017 at the Jesus Reigns United Methodist Chuch in the town of Pila of Laguna Province, announces the new district superintendent for both the Laguna and Quezon Districts in the person of Rev. Nazzer Oliveros the administrative of Atimonan United Methodist Chuch in Atimonan, Quezon.
The bishop thank and blesses the outgoing district superintendent Rev. Francis Pera who has served both the Laguna and Quezon District for two years. He was appointed district superintendent by Bishop Rudy Juan who once was the bishop of the Manila Episcopal Area in the year 2014. Though Rev. Pera is a clergy member from Rizal Conference, he came from the town of Calauag in Quezon Province. His new assignment is in Taytay United Methodist Church in Rizal. Rev. Pera though for just two years have fruitfully supervised the United Methodist Church Disciples of Chright which is the evangelism and discipleship pilot program of the Manila Episcopal Area spearheaded by Bishop Juan. Many churches especially in Quezon District experience radical siritual renewal and now implementing a comprehensive discipleship program of the church.
Rev. Nazzer Oliveros who is from Quezon City and now part of the STPPACE since 2005 when the conference was still a mission district of now defunct Philippines Annual Conference East, is now the incoming district superintendent and will assume office on June 2017. Rev. Oliveros served Atimonan UMC for three years prior to his appointment as DS and contributed a major change not just in infrastructure of the church but in the spiritual level of its church members also with the help of the UMC DOC. Rev. Oliveros is married to Anne Michelle Ulay and has ne daughter Freedomlyn.
A Welcoming and Thanksgiving Fellowship will be held in honor of the DS Francis Pera and Rev. Nazzer Oliveros in Atimonan UMC on May 20, 2017.
