Episcopal Address presented by Bishop Ciriaco Francisco

Last March 13 – 15, 2017, the newly elected bishop for the Manila Episcopal Area Bishop Ciriaco “Cerie” Francisco presides over the 9th Session of the Southern Tagalog Provisional Philippines Annual Conference East at the Jesus Reigns UMC in Pila, Laguna. Bishop Cerie presented his first episcopal address for MEA and gave emphasis on the Vital Congregations which is the denominations pathway of growth. He challenges the pastors and churches with the challenge of the denomination’s new theme which is “Therefore Go”.

Included in the program is planning session where the delegates designed the program not just for the conference but also for the local churches. It was facilitated by the wife of bishop Mrs. Tita Francisco who is a license guidance counselor.

The newly elected lay leader Noel Santos who is from the Pacita UMC challenges the conference inspite of its current condition which seemingly unfit to continue as a conference to pursue to become a regular conference by the year 2020.

The conference welcomes the newly appointed district superintendent of the Laguna and Quezon Districts in the person of Rev. Nazzer Oliveros. The bishop also appoints Rev. Joel Capulong as supervising elder for Laguna. Rev. Francis Pera will return to his conference in Rizal and was assigned in Taytay UMC.

The conference also approves the early retirement of one of its pastors Rev. Asuncion Paunil due to sickness. She serve many churches in the conference and in Nueva Ecija in 21 years.
