Local congregations in Laguna and Quezon District gathers at Good Morning Resort in Palasan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna to celebrate 8 years of God’s faithfulness for the Southern Tagalog Philippines Provisional Annual Conference East with the theme “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness: A Journey to Commitment” last June 25, 2016. Bishop Rudy Juan, the resident bishop of the Manila Episcopal Area of which STPPACE belongs graces the event as anniversary preacher.
The bishop points out that those who really experience God’s faithfulness are the ones who have a deeper commitment in the faith and service to Him. He challenges the whole members present including the church workers to excel in the commitment to the Lord as he is ever faithful to his children.
The churches conducted a parade of the church members before the worship service headed by Bishop Rudy Juan and District Superintendent Francis Pera. The young people of Kalayaan UMC render a interpretative dance, Pacita UMC young people with dancers from Sta. Rosa UMC led the praise and worship songs and Rev. Marven Chavarria of Binan UMC as lead singer. Sta. Rosa UMC rendered the anthem and also the pastors and deaconesses of STPPACE offer a song to the Lord.
Games were also held after the luncheon fellowship facilitated by Rev. Leonardo Famisan Jr. of El Rey UMC and Masapang Mission. It is a moment for the church members including the pastors and deaconesses to see each other again not just for meetings and conferences but for fellowship and celebrations. It’s been a long time when churches gathered together since the celebration when STPPACE was just the Laguna Quezon Mission District.
