Four officers of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Sothern Tagalog Provisional Conference participated in the last 34th National Youth Council at Penafrancia Hotel in Naga City of Bicol Province last April 11 – 15 of 2016. The delegation was headed by their president Christiane Eunice Romero (Sta. Rosa UMC), Joshua Arevalo (Alabat UMC), Leibniz Hans Pedida, and Lorraine Tejada both from Calamba UMC with their youth worker Pastor Vincent Pacto from Atimonan UMC.
Their theme “Be Relevant” challenges the youth leaders in the country to strengthen their faith and empower them in their service not just to the church but also to the community. The event also includes outreach service to the children in the community.
The National Youth Council meets every 2 years attended by officers of each annual conference of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines. It is a legislative body and also elects new officers of the National UMYF.
