Rev. Francis Pera of Body of Christ UMC in Rizal Conference was appointed as the new district superintendent for both of Laguna and Quezon District by Bishop Rodolfo Juan during the 7th session of the Southern Tagalog Provisional Conference last february 12 ans 13, 2015 at the Pacita UMC in San Pedro, Laguna.
Rev. Pera was originally came from Calauag, Quezon under the mission work of Taytay UMC and serve local churches in the provinces of Rizal from then on. He was brother of Pastor Cris Pera currently a seminary student and pastor of Pinagbayanan UMC and deaconess Filipina Pera assigned at the Atimonan UMC. He has a brother who also a DS in Quezon City Rev. Cleto Pera and their father now in the presence of the Lord was once a mission worker.
The Conference is thankful for the services of Rev. Joseph Flores who was the longest DS in STPPAC and for Rev. Emellyn Dellosa who serve as district superintendents.
A single DS is seen as an alternative who will work for the two district a practical way of administering the provisional conference while in time gathering resources for growth especially for the churches in different ministries.
This conference elected its new delegates to the general conference of the United Methodist Church namely Rev Edgar Cruz and as alternate delegate Rev. Nazzer Oliveros this coming 2016 session. Joining them in the central conference for the Philippines is Rev. Dexter Ceballos and Rev. Joseph Flores as alternate.
The Conference is blessed for the new deaconesses Danica San Juan and Rofe Pacto as they were commissioned this 7th session.
The theme for this conference is “Pamilya ko: Matatag na Metodista alay kay Cristo” (My Family: Strong Methodist for Jesus) Promoting Family Solidarity through discipleship. This is the second time the annual conference session is held in Pacita UMC with its returning pastor Rev. Dexter Ceballos.
