One of the special events of the year for the Filipino young people is the Christmas Institute and for the young people of the Southern Tagalog Provisional Conference they will make this always a memorable one. For this year the Quezon District young people decided to have their own Christmas Institute to cater young people from far flung areas which is very expensive to come to the regular conference wide event and also the church workers sees the opportunity that leaders of the district would have the chance to handle such an event on their own. The Quezon District Christmas Institute was held at the Atimonan UMC in Atimonan, Quezon with more than 90 delegates which is double the size of its normal delegation in the past conference wide CI.
They made their own theme “Chosen Generation” which aims to equip the young people in different kinds of ministries of the church and also deepen their spirituality. Eunice Romero the president of the STPPAC UMYF with some officers also visited the CI in Quezon District to see the activity held in the other district.
The Christmas Institute this year which was organized by the annual conference officers of the young people now attended by the young people of the Laguna District was held in an elementary school in San Pablo City. They follow the theme provided by the national organization of UMYF which is entitled “Counterflow”. This aims to educate the young people to focus on their spirituality while living in the world that they would follow Jesus rather than by the world.
There are also more than 90 delegates who attended in the Laguna CI which is mostly they were just 50 delegates in the past CI. Both events were successful as they were handled by the young officers and staff which were also supported and guided by the pastors and deaconesses and by young adult friends.
Pastors and deaconesses stayed in the event in support of the youth activities and serves as a time to be with one another during the Christmas season and after the busyness of the holiday season.
