The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the agency for disaster response of the United Methodist Church distributed food packages among the churches in the Quezon and in Laguna in aid for the recently disaster made by typhoon Glenda which hit the Philippines last July 2014.
Rev. Reuel Javier the administrative assistant of Bishop Rudy Juan represents him and met the church workers of Quezon and In Laguna in Atimonan, Quezon last November and coordinated the relief distribution which came from the UMCOR for the churches. Rev. Nathaniel Francisco – pastor of Kalayaan UMC represents Rev. Emellyn Dellosa district superintendent of Laguna District receives the financial aid for the churches in Laguna which was also affected by the typhoon Glenda.
Rev. Joseph Flores – the district superintendent of Quezon District with the church workers receives the food packages including sacks of rice, canned goods, instant noodles and the like for the affected communities among the churches.The Quezon province was one of the most affected by the typhoon which caused floodings, landslides and destruction of some structures in the area.
UMCOR has been responsive to all of the disasters happened in the Philippines especially in the provinces of Laguna and in Quezon. It has been a great help for the people affected by the typhoon.
