Typhoon “Glenda” hits Southern Tagalog and some areas of Luzon

A super typhoon with international name Rammasun and locally known as “Glenda hits mostly of Southern and middle Luzon and some areas of Visayas Region last July 15 as it passes though the region heading north west. Its winds reach around 200 km/hr stronger than the known super typhoon Milenyo which hits the Philippines a couple of years ago.

Many churches, parsonages were greatly damaged even the houses of church members. Agricultural livelihood were greatly suffered.  Quezon Province was one of the affected areas in CALABARZON area especially those towns by the sea.Storm surge a natural phenomena caused by the storm by the sea was reported that caused great devastation to Tacloban by typhoon Yolanda. The towns of Calauag, Lopez and Gumaca and some others were hit by storm surge and plunges some of its areas into floods. Some provinces were left with no electricity and might be restored by  couple of weeks or days.

The office of the Bishop and its Disaster Response Team are preparing for providing help to the affected areas for relief and rehabilitation.
