The UMYF of STPPACE sked out its Summer Institute and Leadership Congress on May 16 – 20, 2011 at Grace in Faith UMC at Tayabas, Quezon. It will conduct two activities which are recipients of grant money one from the Youth Service Fund which is the Discipleship Leadership Training for Filipino Methodist Youth and from the Peace with Justice Grant for the Peace with Justice Seminar for the young people.
The Discipleship Leadership Training for Filipino Methodist Youth aims to train young leaders to organize cell group or small group in their respective local churches from a material designed for Filipino Methodist Youth written by the STPPACE Council of Youth Ministry. Concurrently, a theme on Discipleship will be discussed to the non leaders. The program start from May 16 to 18.
After the Discipleship training is the Peace with Justice Seminar for the young people which aims to provide awareness and involve the young people in addressing peace with justice issues in the community. The seminar also aims to organize Just Peace League for the young people which will serve as their venue for an advocacy forum.
The Discipleship training is initiated by the STPPACE Council of Youth Ministry headed by Rev. Mervin Anthony Montano and the UMYF headed by Aneglica Justiniano and the Peace with Justice Seminar was organized by the Council of Youth Ministry and the Board of Church and Society of STPPACE headed by Rev. Nazzer Oliveros.
